Sit on My Quilt - intro to everyday quilting

Ready to jump into quilting? This is where it all begins.
You Can Sit on My Quilt is the perfect introduction to quilting from the ground up. We’ll start with the basics like choosing fabric, rotary cutting, and learning essential stitching techniques, then guide you through piecing a simple strip quilt that’s cute, usable, and completely doable.
You’ll learn how to work with measurements, keep your seams neat and accurate, and build a quilt that’s perfect for a baby, the beach, or just because you want one. Once your top is pieced, we’ll talk about the magical “quilt sandwich” (no snacks involved) and walk you through finishing techniques, including machine quilting and binding.
This class is designed for true beginners and anyone ready to finally stop saying “I’ve always wanted to quilt” and start actually doing it. We’ll be using the book It’s OK If You Sit on My Quilt as our guide to kick off your quilting adventure.
You’ll leave with new skills, growing confidence, and the start of a quilt you’ll be proud to show off… and yes, definitely sit on.
