Workshop for the "Sergically Impaired!"
1:30-4pm - $35 Have you ever felt "sergically impaired?" Your serger is a wonderful tool that will make so many things so much easier. Learn how to install zippers and/or cording, serger necklace (ya...jewelry!), piecing, purse handles, bias binding, hemming and elastic waistbands. No more excuses - learn to "serge ahead!"
CREATIVITY RETREAT

Jill will cover the basics of "Stitch Recipe Play" - creative ways of using and combining stitches to create one of a kind edgings and creative stitch detail. Learn the basics of using decorative threads and needles and stabilizers (successfully!) to really make your creations shine! You will be amazed at what is hidden inside your machine! Stay for lunch and then we will finish up with lots of creative tips and ideas that will blow you away! And, see what some of the newest technology can do to make things even easier! You've learned the basics, now you are ready to practice and play with free-motion quilting techniques, and learn about thread tension as well, in this hands-on class. With Mary Alice, you will practice many different free-motion quilting designs, using different types of thread and you will go home with a notebook full of designs along with your samples.
Q5 MACHINE QUILTING

Okay, the quilt top is done...what do you do now? You'll need to learn some basic skills: layering your quilt with backing and batting, planning your quilting patterns, choosing threads and then finally, using your free-motion skills and/or BSR to execute some simple quilting patterns. Beginners will feel more comfortable after taking this techniques class, which is lecture demo and hands on.
