QUILTS OF VALOR
Ruth Stonesifer
Sundays - 10-4pm - June 8, July 13, August 10
We are looking for quilters, piecers and longarmers to work together on this very heart-warming project. We at Byrne would like to recognize the sacrifices of our brave armed forces personnel and contribute to the efforts of Quilts of Valor. These very special quilts are being sent to wounded armed services personnel at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, DC, and are a great project for beginners and experienced quilters alike. Join us - whatever your level of experience - for a fun and gratifying day! And, if Sundays just don't work for you, consider making a donation to the special fund we have established to help defray costs of this incredible undertaking. Thank you all - again!
Our thanks to Bill Hooper for this awesome photoquilt commemorating Quilts of Valor™ memories. Click here to view and then click on the image itself for close-ups!
Q1 $5 "PRACTICALLY FREE" QUILT
Ruth Stonesifer
This is one of our most popular events! We start a new quilt in January, so you'll want to hop on board right from the beginning. Buy the block your first month for just $5 and bring it back the next month - completed and get the next month's block for free! How much better can it get?!! Caution - this can be addictive!
Lecture/Demo will held at 10:30 am, 1:30 and 7:00 pm on the following date:
Thursdays - 5/29, 6/19, 7/31, 8/28, 9/25, 10/30, 11/20, 12/18
Party for this year's $5 qilt block - 1/24/09 - 10am
Q2 "SEW" RELAXING
Join us as we open one of our classrooms up to anyone who wants to come in and sew or quilt or whatever. You'll have a place to spread out and work to your heart's content - away from the phone and other distractions of home. The coffee's always on so bring your projects...and a friend or two and lunch and we'll provide the space and any number of folks to offer an opinion or advice on your current project! And...as we envision this...we might just throw in some informal tips, techniques or sneak peeks at upcoming cool stuff. "Sew," come kick back and spend a relaxing day (or part thereof!) and stitch away! Limited seating - call early to reserve your spot!

Q8 VOICES OF THE PAST - PATCHWORK SOCIETY
Penny Armagost
Join us as we continue to celebrate the lives of some women who have helped shape the history of our country. We began this series on Flag Day with Betsy Ross, and what a treat that was! Join us at our tea parties as we learn about some of the other influential women in our history. Kaye England has created a quilt block in honor of each woman. At each there will be a short demo of the block which can be made into a charming quilt as well as other small projects. The pattern is included in the cost of the event. Every few months we'll be honoring another one of our "national treasures" with a block and quilt designed especially for them.
1 session - $15 (includes pattern and other surprises!)
