"Victory Garden" by Ellen Conoscenti
Having just moved to the East Coast from Chicago, I visited every quilt shop I could find. It was a great way to meet new people. In the process of conducting my own "Shop Hop", I learned of this BOM (Block of the Month) quilt After seeing only the turnip block, I knew I had to do it even though I had never done an appliqué project. Each month was a treat as the next vegetable block was issued. When the borders were released, the quilt seemed to come alive. This project helped me settle into my new home, make new friends, and learn a new skill.
